Donna
Part of Donna’s lower jaw was removed and replaced with a metal plate to treat a tumor. A removable appliance was made that clasps onto the remaining teeth and replaces the teeth, gums, and bone. This appliance is very similar to a partial denture.
Carol
Surgeons reconstructed the section of Carol’s jaw that was removed with a portion of her fibula bone. We then placed 3 implants into the bone and connected them with a bar to distribute the chewing forced evenly over the implants. Her dental appliance is extremely stable; it snaps onto the implant bar and does not need her other teeth for support.
