Rosie
Rosie had most of her upper jaw removed due to cancer. Only a few teeth were left on the left side and a large obturator appliance was made to replace her missing teeth and also covered the opening that was left in her palate. It was wonderful to see her smiling once treatment was complete.
Pearl
When no natural teeth remain, it is quite a challenge to make an appliance that will stay in place after part of the palate has been removed due to cancer. Pearl chose implants to solve this problem. She already had a fixed implant denture in the lower jaw and placement of 3 implants connected by a bar in the upper jaw allowed the obturator to clip on, eliminating the need for adhesive.
